Program Overview
The AJWS Workforce Ready Training Cohort™ provides approximately 40 to 45 hours of practical workforce preparation. Participants develop the skills, confidence, and professional expectations needed to successfully enter and remain in the workplace.

Workplace professionalism
Participants learn the behaviors and expectations that define professionalism, including workplace etiquette, personal presentation, accountability, integrity, and respect for organizational culture.
Digital literacy
Participants build essential technology skills for the modern workplace, including computer basics, internet navigation, email communication, online job searching, and using common workplace applications.
Financial literacy
Participants gain practical knowledge for managing money effectively, including budgeting, banking, credit management, saving, debt reduction, understanding employee benefits, and building long-term financial wellness.
Resume & interview skills
Participants develop professional resumes and gain confidence in presenting their skills and experiences to prospective employers. Training includes resume development, application completion, interviewing techniques, mock interviews, professional networking, and effective follow-up strategies.
Communication
Strong communication skills are essential in every workplace. Participants strengthen their verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities while learning active listening, conflict resolution, customer interactions, professional email etiquette, and effective collaboration with supervisors and coworkers.
Customer service
Exceptional customer service creates exceptional organizations. Participants learn how to deliver positive customer experiences through professionalism, empathy, problem-solving, relationship building, effective communication, and service recovery techniques applicable across all industries.
Time management
Participants learn practical strategies for managing time, priorities, and responsibilities in both their professional and personal lives. Topics include organization, scheduling, goal setting, productivity techniques, attendance, punctuality, and balancing competing priorities.
Workplace success
This capstone component prepares participants to thrive after being hired. Participants strengthen critical employability skills including adaptability, resilience, critical thinking, workplace problem-solving, emotional intelligence, continuous learning, and strategies for long-term career retention and advancement.
The AJWS Workforce Ready curriculum is designed in collaboration with employers to ensure participants develop the professional competencies, technical confidence, and workplace behaviors necessary to succeed in today's workforce. Graduates complete the program prepared to contribute on day one and positioned for long-term career growth.

Pilot Launch
The inaugural Workforce Ready pilot cohort will enroll up to 10 unemployed or underemployed individuals who have demonstrated both the desire to work and the commitment to successfully complete the training program. Participants will be selected through a competitive community recruitment process designed to identify individuals who are ready to invest in their future. Upon successful completion of the program, participating employers will have access to a pool of qualified, work-ready candidates at no cost during the pilot phase.
